Business Mentoring and Development

RBY is committed to the commercial success and development of local companies. RBY is leading the resource industry by providing a business mentoring program to local groups and companies. The aim of the business mentoring program is to enable locals to become involved and benefit from work that occurs around their communities. Under the program, RBY employees work with individuals, groups and businesses to implement the necessary foundation, structures and governance for a reliable and sustainable business model.

RBY's business mentoring program includes:
  • The establishment of business structures
  • Training in financial management (both individual and organisational)
  • Assistance in the management of contracts, projects, human resources and other industry knowledge essential for the sustainable functioning of a business in the resource industry
  • Targeted training for Indigenous businesses and individuals on management of culturally specific issues (managing family responsibilities, cultural leave, obligations to community, etc)
The sustainable business model endorsed by RBY not only enhances the prospects of industry locating viable partnerships with local communities, but provides resource companies with the ability to effectively reach their Indigenous and local engagement policies and targets. In that context, resource companies are able to contribute to the sustainable development of Aboriginal people and local communities.
